Re: Unicorn Lone Weaver
I played a game last week and had a lvl 4 in a forest and as going to one dice a spell and my opponent reminded me that a natural dice roll of 1 or 2 is considered "broken concentration" and that would end that mage's spell casting for that turn, of course he reminded me of this after I ro...

Re: Enchanted Arrows may be used more than once
@ Sidewinder, I am pretty sure WE mages cant take the arrows or they would have the option under their listing in the back of the book as do other lords and heroes. The plot thickens!

Re: Enchanted Arrows may be used more than once
@ hutobega. I agree, that is the way I and my gaming circle see it also. i would point out in our old AB spites are not in magic item section, but are chosen as such. GW added a caveat "Spites are chosen in the same manner as Magic Items, and count towards the maximum number of points a charact...

Re: Enchanted Arrows may be used more than once
They are certainly magic items, this isn't a good line of argument. But the explicit exception to the unique rule exists in the book, and that's the important part to focus on. The important part is that our AB is not a novel, it is meant as a reference book, with sections, headings and lists to he...

Re: Enchanted Arrows may be used more than once
Also if arrows could only be taken on one unit, why did they bother to make it a selection for characters? Would you really take poison arrows on a captain and then not be allowed to use it anywhere else? I agree, especially an army alignment specific arrow like Moonfire Shot or Starfire Shafts. :)

Re: Enchanted Arrows may be used more than once
It's a tenuous link, behind which is a whole barrel of tenuous RAI. They're magic items. It says so. Magic items are unique unless stated otherwise. It doesn't. We can sit here all day and debate what might, in a certain light, constitute an implied, contextual exception, or what the rules dev team...

Re: Enchanted Arrows may be used more than once
Does anyone from the "one type only" camp have any insight or opinions as to why GW has a supposed "magic item" not listed with the other "magic Items" in the "magic item" section of the book? Maybe GW thinks debating rules is half the fun of gaming, best reas...

Re: Enchanted Arrows may be used more than once
Yea they are under the armory I'd love to take more than one set but the fact that our book calls them enchanted items is what hoses us. The fact that they are unit upgrades is what lets every model in the unit have them but not multiple units. All I'm saying is I'd get you opponents permission or ...

Re: Way Watchers and Stand and Shoot
Okay... then on whose Movement phase is the damage taken? Because it is ANY UNIT within. So... I'm confused. Nobody controls the wood. And it happens to EVERYONE in it, not just those you control on your turn... It is taken at the end of the movement phase of the player that controls the unit in th...

Re: Way Watchers and Stand and Shoot
Both movement phases is how I play it. That's because it doesn't say one persons or the others, it states a phases which happens twice per round The magic phase happens twice per round too, and the description for the Shield of Thorns spell says damage taken after 'each' (both players) magic phase,...

Re: Way Watchers and Stand and Shoot
@ ovrtninja: I am referring to the controller of the unit that is in the terrain, not the terrain itself. "any unit at least partially within the WW at the end of "the" movement phase", once again I read that as the unit controller's movement phase not both or it would be worded,...

Re: Way Watchers and Stand and Shoot
I interpret the wildwood damage happening on the controlling unit movement phase only, "roll for any unit at end of the movement phase", I take that to mean the unit's movement phase, where as the spell shield of thorns states damage taken after "each" magic phase. It needs clari...

Re: Just how good are Treemen?
I am really liking the strangleroot shooting now with 12" range, and the high BS to go with it makes for a high damage, high toughness shooting unit that can charge. Wiped out some Knights and did a final wound to a "stank" last game.

Re: 2400 Wood Elves Vs Empire
Great report, I am playing vs Empire next game, but I believe you want to take Moonfire Shot arrows against Forces of Order. :) This is a tournament list so it's made for all comers, it is admittedly a more fun list than a proper shooty avoidance though. Idea for starfire is the nasty stuff which O...

Re: Araloth and Arrow of Kurnous contribute to a win.
I like the sound of this... But he is an awful lot of points for what you're getting out of him. Would you not be better off with a Lord with CoC (stubborn) and HoDA?? Its a subject for debate. Araloth has a ward save, extra attack and a WS one better than a Lord, and I personally like the options ...

NIce to hear it works well :) Don't forget that the Venom thicket only gives poison on close combat attacks though (I tend to forget that myself) :p With the hagbane arrow upgrade the unit deals poison in both shooting and cc when in venom thicket, the DT test when they entered the forest to charge...

All 3 of those players are in an elite class. Being from Tampa Bay, I have watched Victor Hedman show signs of greatness in a majority of games this past season, a future STAR for sure, one of my fav players.

Araloth and Arrow of Kurnous contribute to a win.
Played 2250 vs Ogres and massacred my opponent. Both Araloth's stubborn and Skaryn ripping an eye out of Ogre general and wounding on a six to reduce Init. and WS to 1 helped, not to mention Arrow of Kurnous dealing a wound to him before game even started. Cant rely on either but when they work it s...
