Although dusk has a good point, if i was a tree :) and it was a choice of killed by dwarfs or see an elf wield an axe in defense of me well you know were that's going. Welcome back to the woods The models are our life-blood pretty much so i very doubt they will get rid of them. I wonder why they decided to scratch the whole rule instead of modifying it to just a few others?

Personally i use 16 for flaming and a 13(which i always use a character to make 14) and 14. This is mainly due to the fact i got given and odd number of men for boxes and i also like the little bit of extra punch. But 12/14 for flaming and groups of 10 is probably best.

You might not necessarily kill it but you will tie it up for most of the game. Depends a lot on the war machine as well

How do your opponents feel about the rules because IMHO i would not play with some of them rules. Also I take it you prefer 7th edition over 8th

Since bring this topic up I have thought about it but I think there is just to great a risk for cannons and other arty which most armies have even cheap Orc stuff could kill 5x the points cost of BSB thats too much of a rick IMO

Maybe for a treeman upgrade we could have roll a D6

1 1d6 hits
2-4 2d6 hits
5 1d6 + the tree whack
6 2d6 + tree whack

6 would be 2d6(6) hits a strenght 10 hit and d6 thunder stomps. To a toughness 3 horde 7 kills give or take that could be fun
or something similar.

Lots of army's have swarms now what about a wood elf etheral spite swarm or something with massive magic resistance and some interesting special rules?
