A couple of battle reports

Greetings, quite a while back I used to post quite a few battle reports on here, on this thread. Now i have gotten back into wfb I thought I'd share some new ones.
Charge of the Wild Brigade
Battle of the Innocuous Forest of Peril

I hope they entertain.

Re: Thought I'd drop by

hi, strangely enough I have taken my army out of storage to play a few games and ended up back here as well. Yes you're right there's not many people about but maybe we could start a mini wood elf renaissance?

My second coming!

Greetings all, I've been away from WFB for many years and the last time I checked Asrai.net was read only. a few weeks ago I played a game of 8th edition and loved it and vowed to play more. I was pleasantly surprised to find this forum again. I was even more pleasantly surprised to find I had remem...

After a mini fantasy hiatus I had a game of Kings of War. Minty pops His KoW Cherry.

Re: Any more Asrai left in these woods?

I just had my first game of KoW last week. I must admit for all its streamlined rules there seems to be a good deal of tactical depth. I also managed to write a batrep up in 3 days so I was pretty enthused about the whole thing! It's on my blog if your interested.

Re: Any more Asrai left in these woods?

I haven't been round here so much recently because my gaming group isn't really playing fantasy atm. I can't see how 9th age will help. The fantasy scene is becoming too fractured what with Oldhammer, 8th Ed, AoS, KoW and 9th Age. What happens when 9th brings a whole new set of issues or nerfs armie...

Re: AoS Orion's Command Ability

It's worse when he moves up shoots all his weapons into a unit then charges in to mop up the remains in close combat! Total beast!

Re: AoS Orion's Command Ability

If Orion has the WANDERER tag then yes it does apply. I intent using him in an aos game soon as in the rules he can shoot with all his missile weapons at once!

Thanks very much for your comments. I have edited the first post as I think it's a great idea. I'm currently working on an AoS batrep that will be put up on here shortly. :D

Re: 1500 point tournament list

Unfortunately you cannot take High magic on a level 2. In a recent game against WoC I took this list: Glade Lord, Armour of Fortune, Obsidian Amulet, Sword of Anti Heroes, Longbow, Elven Steed, Shield. Glade Captain, Battle Standard Bearer, Hail of Doom Arrow, Charmed Shield, Dragonbane Gem, Longbow...

Re: 2000 Points against Lizardmen

I play lizardmen as well as wood elves and if you can get a level 2 metal mage in there searing doom is an unholy terror for Bastiladons and cold one cavalry. Not bad against the Saurus and TG too. Final Trans is a fantastic spell, and Enchanted Blades and glittering robe can make Wild riders even m...

Re: 2000 Points against Lizardmen

Skirmishing Skinks make Swiftshivers less useful until they're in short range. Even then I'm doubtful of their use. Trueflight are miles better for them.

Re: 2000 point WE army vs Skaven friendly games

That skaven list looks a bit light. The main threat is the Doomwheel I reckon. Poison the crap out of that and you should be well on the way to victory. The cannon can make a mess of the EG with a lucky shot. It looks to me like you have nearly the same number of models in both your armies. There ha...

A level 1 Metal mage on a steed is very useful. Searing Doom their 2+ saves. :D

Re: 1000 Point T&T List

T & T is great fun. are you taking mercenarys? If you are a witch Hunter and a great cannon! What you have to realise in T & T is you may have to weather 2 or 3 shooting phases before you get one so durability is good. I'd try to get a Branchwraith in there if possible. Most important thing ...

Re: Universal Battle

I've played it once a few weeks ago. I'd definitely recommend using skype. It works well enough with the free version. I may pay a subscription if I get more games in. As I work shifts a day game against someone in another part of the world seems feasible too. For anyone interested I wrote up a batt...

Re: Mollesvinet - 2015-05-17 - Ogres+WE vs Empire+Undead

That was an interesting game alright. seems like Undead are very dependent on end times magic phases being kind to them. I played once against Nagash and it took forever! Nice report. It was fun reading it. I don't have the rules here..can you move the turn you get back on the table after overrunnin...

Re: My Battle report thread

Yes, I'm beginning to think that myself. Of course the trouble with Waywatchers is the DP will probably target them as a priority with spells or combat. I thinking that a level 2 death mage with a sisters bus with +1 Ld can be a nasty surprise with Spirit Leech - again it's dependent on the magic ph...

Re: My Battle report thread

I know, a more effective way of dealing with him would be multiple waywatchers and a Shadow mage. Reliant on getting that spell though.
